On November 19-20, the Rector of CDV, Marek Zieliński Ph.D., and Krzysztof Patkowski Ph.D., Dean for the Realization of Education of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, participated in discussions during the anniversary LUMEN 2024 conference. Organized by PCG Academia, Times Higher Education, and the Polish Rectors Foundation, the event brought together leaders of the academic world to collaboratively seek solutions to the challenges facing higher education in Poland.
On November 19, Dr. Marek Zieliński, Prof. CDV, took part in a panel discussion on the role of university rectors in the context of evolving circumstances and emerging challenges. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Bogumiła Kaniewska, Rector of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and Chair of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. Other panelists included:
- Prof. Michał Markuszewski, Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk,
- Prof. Rafał Matera, Rector of the University of Łódź, and
- Prof. Beata Wojciechowska, Rector of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.
On November 20, Dr. Krzysztof Patkowski shared his insights during a debate on the commercialization of university course offerings. The discussion focused on online education as a response to evolving market needs and demographic challenges, highlighting its potential to enhance the financial stability of universities. The panel was moderated by Dr. Łukasz Fojutowski (Foundation for Development, Education, and Technology). Other participants included Artur Dyro, Bartek Rycharski, and Kamil Wołczyński.
