“Nur für Polen” is the second edition of the exhibition accompanying the first monographic book of the same title, devoted to the work of Szymon Szymankiewicz. In addition to the works presented in the publication of the Posnania Municipal Publishing House, the exhibition in the Rotunda Gallery at the Collegium da Vinci will also include new posters, thus expanding the previous presentation. The curator of the exhibition is Grzegorz Myćka.
During the opening it will be possible to purchase a copy of the book with a dedicated author’s signature.
Szymon Szymankiewicz (born 1985 in Łódź) is currently one of the most recognizable Polish poster artists of the young generation. His works, which have been awarded many times and have been shown all over the world, are distinguished by their simple graphic form and sparse colors, and above all by their courage in discussing difficult or even socially controversial topics. This artist accurately and uncompromisingly comments on the reality surrounding him, highlighting the vices of privileged groups and defending the rights of those who are excluded in today’s world. In Szymankiewicz’s posters we will find a loud voice of opposition to racism, homophobia and general discrimination against all minorities, presented in a form that does not allow us to ignore his projects.
