On October 29-30 of this year, the latest edition of the Greenpact – European ESG Summit was held at the Poznań International Fair. The event, organized by the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the MTP Group, gathered experts and enthusiasts of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. This summit marked an important step forward in discussing the role of responsible practices in building a sustainable future.
One of the conference participants was Grzegorz Myćka, a lecturer at Collegium Da Vinci (CDV), artist, graphic designer, and educator. He took part in the panel discussion “Culture for Sustainable Development,” led by Kamil Hyszka, a representative of the Polish Chamber of Commerce. He was joined by speakers from various fields, including Dr. Irena Chawrilska, Director of the Academic Center for Polish Language and Culture at the University of Gdańsk, and theater director Zdenka Pszczołowska.
During the panel, Grzegorz Myćka offered an artistic-academic perspective, explaining to the audience how art and art education can shape public awareness and foster pro-environmental attitudes. The discussion focused on the role of culture—both popular and high culture—in promoting sustainable attitudes. It was also mentioned that art, including series and literature, can either strengthen climate awareness or weaken it if the subject is presented superficially.
The discussion highlighted the key impact of culture and art in educating society on climate change and the necessity of environmental care.
The Greenpact – European ESG Summit attracted numerous experts who shared their experiences and ideas on how various sectors—from business and science to culture—can contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
Grzegorz Myćka’s presence as a representative of Collegium Da Vinci provided an important voice from the artistic and academic community in this debate.
