Tutoring

Tutoring is a process that supports students' development by strengthening their independence, proactivity and responsibility for their own education. It helps them discover their strengths, set goals and make conscious decisions about their future. It is a space to look at oneself, build self-confidence and get to know oneself better.

What is tutoring?

Tutoring at CDV consists of individual and group meetings during which students develop their strengths, set goals and consciously direct their education. It is based on a partnership between tutor and tutee, founded on trust, dialogue and support. The tutor does not suggest ready-made solutions, but helps the student to look at themselves from a new perspective, recognise their strengths and understand which paths of development best suit their aptitudes. It is a space for open conversation, asking questions and reflecting on the future – both professional and personal.

Why it's worth it

What tools will you use?

  • Clifton StrengthsFinder® (Gallup Test)

It will show you your natural talents and strengths. Through it, you will understand where you have an advantage and how to best make use of your aptitudes in learning, work, and everyday life. This tool will help you better plan your future and develop what truly makes you unique.

  • Insightful Profiler™ (iP121)

It will reveal what professional competencies are your strengths, what motivates you, and what might pose a challenge. Through it, you will learn which professional roles are most natural for you and which development paths are worth considering. It is valuable support in making informed decisions about your future.

How you will work

  • Group tutoring

In your first year, you will work in small, interdisciplinary groups. This will allow you to meet students from different study programmes, exchange experiences and learn to look at various issues from different perspectives. In a safe atmosphere, you will engage in inspiring discussions and develop your social skills.

  • Individual tutoring

From the second year onwards, you can choose individual tutoring and work with a tutor of your choice. This is an opportunity for deeper reflection on your own development – you can focus on your goals, challenges and plans for the future. You decide for yourself whether you want to develop through developmental or academic tutoring.
