Introduction to studying
- semester 1
- 23 hours
This is a block of classes and activities is designed to help you adapt easily to your new environment. You will learn everything you need to know about studying from the very start. You’ll discover how university works, learn to read the syllabus, remember all the places in the university building.
You’ll break the ice with your new classmates, and do your first team project as a warm-up. Colloquium, ECTS, seminar, Rector’s Office, Student Affairs Office – these words will become part of your vocabulary. As part of the e-learning course, you will gain knowledge about how the library operates and the basic health and safety (OHS) requirements.
-
Predisposition tests
- semester 2 and 5
- 2 individual tests
Even if you still don’t know exactly what you want to do in the future, start your studies at Collegium Da Vinci in any study programme and this knowledge will come to you by itself. When you start your first year at our university, you will pass tests that will show you your natural predispositions and strengths.
In the Clifton StrengthsFinder® study, also known as the Gallup Test, you will find out what your innate talents are, what your individual potential is and in which areas you have a chance to achieve above-average results.
On the other side, the Insightful Profiler™ test will examine your development potential, check what motivates you and what discourages you from acting. It will indicate the features that distinguish you from others and define your natural roles in the team.
At the next stage of your studies, before starting your internship, you will complete the Insightful Profiler™ career aptitude test. The results will be discussed with you individually by a qualified professional, helping you turn the insights into concrete decisions: your development path, preferred roles in teamwork, and the choice of internships tailored to your strengths.
Equipped with such knowledge, you will be able to make more conscious choices on your educational and professional path.
-

During your first year of study, you will participate in Tutoring classes. You will have a suport of a Tutor, i.e. a university guide. His task will be to help you in your development – professional, scientific, personal and social.
Under his supervision, you will start working on yourself – from defining your own needs and values that are important to you, through setting goals, to watching over their implementation.
Thanks to this process, you will build independence in making decisions, gain efficiency in actions and strengthen responsibility for your development. During group and individual tutoring classes, you will get to know yourself better, focus on developing your strengths through specific activities and plan an individual learning path. This work will be profitable in the following years.
